Taiwanese
contemporary artist Wenhao Huang established ETAT in 1995, as a
non-profit organization aiming to discover and encourage new art
forms in Taiwan. From 1995-1997, ETAT hosted a series talks, speeches,
and performances by artists and professionals from diverse artistic
fields to initiate a discussion of contemporary artistic trends,
called "Cultural Conference." "Cultural Conference"
stirs up various forms of art making in Taiwan and works as an alternative
forum for contemporary artists to present and exchange ideas. ETAT
has fully documented the "Cultural Conference" and initiated
the first contemporary art web in Taiwan, "ETAT Web",
allowing a broader audience access to such developments.
